The Penrose Park sits in the
center of town and serves as
a hub of local activities.

Founded in 1985, the Penrose
Park is the backdrop for many
a local memory: family picnics,
festivals, and baseball tournaments
top the list.

After a period of difficulty, the Penrose Park & Recreation District decided to revitalize the Park by redesigning it to accommodate people of all ages, interests, and abilities. The Park redesign was encapsulated in a ten-year Master Plan adopted in September of 2016. The Penrose Park & Recreation District Board, along with community volunteers, are presently working to raise the necessary funds to start Phase 1 of the project.

In the meantime, the Penrose Park is undergoing a beautification process to improve its current facilities, which include: a beautiful Gazebo; two Horseshoe Pits; two Playground areas; a Sand Volleyball Court; a large, covered PavilionThe Penrose Station (Community Center); and a Baseball Field with Dugouts, Bleachers and an Announcer Stand.

The Penrose Park is located at 401 Park Place and is open from dawn to dusk. Reservations can be made for private parties and events. To learn more, contact us or click on the facility you are interested in renting (above).

We look forward to seeing you at our Park with Character!
